The Zion Conservatory of Music:
Financial Aid
The Conservatory offers a limited number of scholarship/assistance awards each year, based upon available funds.
Application forms are available in the office and must be turned in by July 31 in order to be considered for coverage during the
Conservatory school year. Families receiving a scholarship or asistance award will be expected to help with promotion and
recitals. The student must qualify for the Honor Roll at least six months out of the Conservatory year in order to keep his award.
Scholarships:
Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate ability, dedication and financial need. A written
recommendation by the teacher is required. A scholarship covers 5-10% of the monthly lessons fee.

Assistanceship Fund:
The Assistanceship Fund is designed to help those students already studying an instrument and who could not
otherwise financially afford lessons. Students must fill out an application, which includes a 100-word essay written by the student
on why he desires lessons. Two references, including one from a music teacher, and a copy of the family's financial information
must be provided. The Assistanceship Fund will pay for 50-100% of the student's monthly lesson fee.

Grace Ryan Piano Award:
Grace Ryan was a highly esteemed Conservatory piano faculty member for many years. In 1981, the Ryan family
established a scholarship fund in her name to be awarded to a graduating piano student with outstanding ability, financial need, and
plans to study piano performance or music education at the college level. Students must fill out an application that includes a
100-word essay written by the students on what they plan to do with music in college and thereafter. A faculty committee chooses
those who receive the award. If no student qualifies, no award is given. More than one recipient may be awarded each year. Call the
Conservatory office for more information.
